A High-Value, High Margin & Highly Demanded Product
Queensland Pacific Metals will produce High Purity Alumina at the Townsville Energy Chemicals Hub (TECH) facility by refining the Aluminium Hydroxide extracted as part of the DNi ProcessTM.
High Purity Alumina is a high value product critical for production of synthetic sapphires, which are used in LED lighting, ceramic coated separators in lithium-ion batteries and scratch resistance glass. There is no substitute for HPA in the manufacture of synthetic sapphire. HPA is characterised by its purity level and recognised for its superior properties, including corrosion and scratch resistance, brightness and ability to withstand extreme temperatures.
Whilst High Purity Alumina has a very opaque market, increasing adoption of LED bulbs over traditional bulbs coupled with technological advancements have industry experts forecasting that demand will double over the next 3 years. In addition, increasing investment in end-use industries will also impact the world market demand for High Purity Alumina.
Queensland Pacific Metals will produce High Purity Alumina at the TECH facility – this high-quality, sought-after product will provide the company with another valuable income stream.
